Ni Shang Dance Academy located in Denver, provides people the rare opportunity of learning traditional Chinese dances. Interviewed by The Denver Post, the school is well known in the Denver metro area and has been invited by many organizations including Chance to Dance 2015, Children's Museum of Denver, Children's Hospital Colorado and Chinese Heritage Camp, etc.
Ms. Ying Kong, a professional Chinese Dance teacher & choreographer, graduated from Nanjing University of Arts with major in Performance, Education and Choreography of Dance. She holds Certificate of Professional Skill and Certified for College Teaching both from Chinese government.
Ms. Ying Kong has more than 17 years of performance experience, from a Dancer, Dance teacher, Dance choreographer to performance director and events planer. She started studying Dance when she was five. She won the First performance award when she was eight. When she was fifteen, as a choreographer and instructor, she helped Shan Xi University to get gold prize. In college, she worked part-time as an instructor for Technics of Chinese Dancing in the High School Affiliated to Nanjing Institute of Arts, and an instructor for Children Dancing in Nanjing Star Light School of Arts. After graduate, she became a youngest college teacher in Suzhou College of Education (now Suzhou vocational University), where she taught courses in Chinese Dance Education and Choreography Technique. She won many awards in national or regional Dance competitions in China. She won the Excellent Performance Award in the 8th Tao-Li Cup National Dance Competition, the 2nd Prize in Dance Competition in Chinese Folk Arts Festival, the 2nd Prize for both performance and choreography in the Blue Sky Cup Dance Competition (Jiangsu Province), Excellent Performance Award in the Lotus Cup Young Dancer Competition and Excellent Award in the 6th Shanxi Province Student Arts Festival, etc. Besides, she received Certificate of Award from Suzhou Federal of Literary and Art Circles and was invited to many exhibitions as instructor and performance director. She successfully trained students to enter the High School Affiliated to Beijing Dance Academy.
While living in America, She has led her students to participate multiple events to support community. Ms. Ying Kong hopes her dance school can give students an unique environment to learn and enjoy this attractive Art.
